Troy Trojans are a first-time participant in the Cure Bowl. They won ten games in a row under first year head coach Jon Sumrall. Their defense is led by Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year Cartlon Martial. The offense has improved recently, scoring at least 34 points in each of their last three games. They are averaging 42.3 points per game. Kimani Vidal has led the rushing attack this season with 1,059 yards. UTSA Roadrunners are repeat champions of C-USA. They lost the Frisco Bowl to San Diego State 38-24 last season. This is their third consecutive bowl appearance. CUSA MVP Frank Harris is the quarterback for the Roadrunner's. Kevorian Barnes is a running back and Zakhari Franklin is an offensive player. The team's defense ranked fifth in the conference. They are headed to the American Athletic Conference next season, but they are not known for their great defense.
