Lawmakers push for horse racing comeback with betting. About 25,000 people will gather on a hillside in Nashville’s Percy Warner Park on Saturday for the 75th anniversary Iroquois Steeplechase. Sponsors of a bill that created a Horse Racing Advisory Committee have their way. The committee will have two years to study and make recommendations for Tennessee”s latest attempt to revive horse Racing statewide. The bill barely passed the House with the 50 votes required in the 99-member chamber. It was passed by the Senate 24-2.
