LEAF NOTES: Sheldon Keefe alters the betting line

Sheldon Keefe is now 16-to-1 to win the Jack Adams Award as coach of the year. In September, he was 13-2 to be let go first. The Maple Leafs are 23-8-6. Zach Aston-Reese likes Keef's style. He preached patience. Before Tuesday’s home game against the Blues, the Leafs record was 23.8.

The Leafs begin a home-friendly January schedule of 10 games at home and five on the road. Sheldon Keefe is concerned about his team getting complacent.

Damar Hamlin had a cardiac episode. St. Louis coach Craig Berube watched it on TV. Jay Bouwmeester collapsed on the bench near Berubes' bench after a game in Anaheim almost three years ago.

Berube was traded to Calgary in the Doug Gilmour trade 31 years ago. He had only played 40 games for Toronto at that stage.
