Line Calls, presented by FanDuel Sportsbook: Karen Khachanov vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas, Paris

The Greek has dominated this head-to-head series, and he also happens to be in great form at the moment.

On Friday, Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Karen Khachanov in an exciting quarterfinal match-up at the Rolex Paris Masters. Tsitsipas is coming off a 7-6 (2), 6-4 win over Alexander Zverev, which was a nice follow-up to the Greek star’s 6-3, 7-6 (4) win over a red-hot Felix Auger-Aliassime. Over the last few weeks, Tsitsipas has been looking more locked in than he has at any point during the 2023 season. He looks like he is trying to pick up as much momentum as possible entering 2024, and it feels like he has a legitimate shot at winning this event.

Tsitsipas is 6-1 in tour-level matches against the Russian, his lone loss a 7-6 (4), 6-4 defeat when they met last year in Miami. Khachanov was running hot earlier in the summer, while Tsitsipas was struggling a bit with his game. Now, it’s Tsitsipas that is looking like he is in better form. He's due for a big title,

Both of these players possess real power in every aspect of the game, but Tsitsipas is a stronger server and has the better forehand. Also, these courts in Paris happen to bounce rather low, which means Tsitsipas’ backhand isn’t as attackable.

Overall, I’m just having a hard time finding reasons to fade Tsitsipas right now. A few months ago, the 25-year-old looked like he was in a bad place mentally on the court. But now that Tsitsipas is engaged, he looks like he’s back to being a Top 5 player. And that means that there’s value in betting him right now, as he’s not being priced to his ability.
