Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard linked with shock new job just days after getting sacked by Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard was sacked by Aston Villa on 20 October. He is being touted as a shock candidate to replace Leam Richardson at Wigan Athletic. The Latics are 22nd in the Championship with just six wins in 21 games. Gerrard won the Scottish Premier League title with Rangers in 2010.

Steven Gerrard was sacked by Aston Villa. Jurgen Klopp said Gerrard would become Liverpool manager in 2021. Gerrard won the Champions League, UEFA Cup and FA Cup during his time at Anfield.

It remains to be seen if Steve Bruce's demise at Villa will affect his credentials as a manager.
