Liverpool vs. Arsenal Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Live on Sky Sports, Liverpool host Arsenal in this all important premier league clash at the Anfield Stadium this Sunday. Tipster Wizard has given us his expert view on the match and has two recommended bets...

The hosts sit 8th in the league table with 43 points, 10 points below the Champions League spots with just 10 games left until the end of the season. Klopp’s men are clearly struggling this season and it is looking increasing likely that they will miss out on the European spots. They are now without a win in 4 consecutive games in all competitions but they will take confidence from the fact that they have only lost once at Anfield in the league all season.

Liverpool's last home game in the league was a 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United, but going up against the league-leaders will be a tough ask for the Reds. As for the visitors, Arsenal sit top of the with 72 points, 8 points clear of 2nd placed Manchester City, although the defending champions do have a game in hand. The Gunners are on a fantastic run of form, having won 7 consecutive league games and also possessing the best away record in the league.

Arteta’s men will certainly be slight favourites heading to Anfield but will know picking up all 3 points will be a major challenge. We were treated to a highly entertaining affair when these two sides met earlier this season at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal won 3-2 and another goal-fest can not be ruled out. A mouth-watering premier league clash awaits us and as usual, I have you covered with 2 of my best betting angles included in the preview below:

Team News:

Calvin Ramsey, Naby Keita & Stefan Bajcetic are out for Liverpool while Virgil Van Dijk, Luis Diaz & Thiago are doubtful.

Takehiro Tomiyasu, Eddie Nketiah, Mohamed Elneny & William Saliba are out for Arsenal.

Liverpool possible starting line-up:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Elliott; Salah, Gakpo, Nunez

Arsenal possible starting line-up:

Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Jesus

Liverpool vs Arsenal Tips

  • Bet Builder @ 4/5 with bet365 - Selections below - 1pt
  • Fabinho booked and Gabriel Jesus anytime goalscorer @ 10/1 with Paddypower - 0.25pts

- Over 1 cards in the 2nd half

- Over 0 goals in the match for Arsenal

- Thomas Partey Over 0.5 tackles in the match

This is a fixture of huge significance for both sides. If Liverpool fail to win, it will be almost impossible for them to finish inside the European spots. As for Arsenal, dropping any points in the title race at this stage is simply not acceptable, as they are yet to play 2nd placed Manchester City away from home. As a result, I expect a highly tense 2nd half full of cynical fouls which should result in at least 2 bookings.

As for the Arsenal goal, they are in fantastic form, winning 7 league games in a row and catch Liverpool in their worst form of the season. Arsenal scored 3 goals against The Reds at the Emirates Stadium and should have enough to score at least 1 here. Finally, Thomas Partey is averaging the most tackles in the Arsenal squad (2.2 per game) and managed to hit 2 tackles against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. Combining these 3 selections gives us a solid betbuilder @ 4/5 and I am happy to stake 1pt on that as our main bet for this game.

Fabinho booked + Gabriel Jesus anytime goalscorer

For the longshot we are siding with this 10/1 poke. Fabinho has picked up 5 yellow cards in his last 7 league appearances for Liverpool and will be up against the likes of Saka and Odegaard. Gabriel Jesus came back from injury in emphatic fashion scoring a brace against Leeds at the Emirates Stadium last week. He will be a huge threat against a struggling Liverpool side. Combining these 2 selections gives us a cracking longshot at 10/1 and I am happy to stake a small 0.25pt on that as our 2nd and final bet for this game.
