Liverpool have all but qualified to the next round of the Europa League following their dominant 1st leg performance against the Czech ‘Fortuna:Liga’ table toppers Sparta Prague.

The 5-1 aggregate will mean the Liverpool manager can potentially utilise some of ‘Klopp’s Kids’ for this fixture, allowing some much-needed rest to some of the more senior players, especially those who participated in the gruelling 1-1 draw versus Manchester City last time out.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Sparta Prague following their defeat to Liverpool. Priske’s side felt the wrath of Viktoria Plzen last Sunday when they went down to 10-men, resulting in a 4-0 defeat.

Perhaps a visit to Anfield is the last thing the ‘Iron Sparta’ could possibly want right now, with the likelihood of them clawing back from a 4-goal deficit looking far from realistic.

Liverpool vs Sparta Prague Prediction

If Sparta Prague were able to complete a comeback from 5-1 down, it would see them pull off one of the biggest comebacks in Europa League history, given the circumstances.

With that being said, this scenario is far from likely and even though Liverpool will probably use this game as a form of rest, they are still seen to be the heavy favourites.

The Reds proved too much to handle last time out and appeared to follow the game plan of nipping this round in the bud sooner than later. Liverpool are likely to give another game to youngsters such as Lewis Koumas and James McConnell.

This match should follow a similar sort of pattern, with the Reds comfortably controlling the game throughout. Sparta Prague will want to at least give this colossal comeback a good go, and so you’d imagine that the Czech side will come out all guns blazing hoping to pick up a goal or two in front of the hostile Anfield crowd. It’s hard to imagine Prague winning though.

Liverpool vs Sparta Prague Tips

Liverpool to win & Both Teams To Score @ 6/4 (Paddy Power)

It’s hard to imagine Liverpool losing here so I like this betting angle on Paddy Power. Even though they will almost definitely field a weaker team, they should still have what it takes to beat Sparta Prague, especially in front of the Kop.

This rotation may see the Reds become vulnerable at the back and I can see them conceding at least one, similar to the first leg.
