Thursday's Top Tips: Back the French Toulouse to Nil at Anfield

New Rangers’ boss Phillipe Clement faces an early examination of his credentials in a tough-looking tie in Prague tonight.

Hosts Sparta lead the way domestically, unbeaten after 12 games and only four points dropped. They came through a tough Play-Off Round match against Croatian Champions Dinamo Zagreb, where they overturned a 3-1 first leg deficit with a 4-1 win of their own to reach the group stages, so will be a formidable challenge for the Gers in the Czech capital.

Rangers have won just two of their last 19 away days in Europe (including the 2022 Europa League final). Among that run, a 1-0 defeat to tonight’s opponents en route to the final.

Clement got a tune out of his new charges at the weekend but this will be a tougher assignment and that away record points to the home win being the best bet at 10/11 in this one.

In the same group Real Betis look a good bet for the accas at 17/20. Opponents Aris stunned themselves as much as they did Rangers when they beat them last month and it would be quite the story if they added the scalp of La Liga opposition too.

That looks a step too far against Betis who are unbeaten in six (W2 D4)

Liverpool should cruise to victory at Anfield where they host Ligue 1’s 11th placed side Toulouse. The French club have only won twice in nine in the league but have picked up four points from their two matches in Group E.

The Reds are 2/11 to win but a win to nil could be worth a punt at a more appealing 11/10.

Tonight’s tie at the Amex should be a cracker as Brighton welcome Euro giants Ajax.

The Amsterdam club are in turmoil following a disasterous start to the season. Maurice Steijn has been sacked and 38-year-old Hedwiges Maduro installed as caretaker coach in the interim.

He’ll be out to prove he’s worthy of a permanent crack at the job and draws against AEK and Marseille means they’re still in the hunt for qualification from Group B.

They might well benefit from the new-manager-bounce and could be dangerous opponents for Brighton tonight at a big price of 15/2. You can get above evens on Ajax +1.5 goals on the Asian Handicap.

Norwegian champions Molde won’t be winning Eliteserien this time round so should be throwing everything they have at qualification from Group H. They’re pointless after defeats to Bayer Levekusen and Qarabag but should be good enough to get three points on the board against Swedish side BK Hacken at 8/11.

In the Europa Conference Aston Villa won’t find the going easy at AZ Alkmaar who sit second top of Eredivisie, making an unbeaten start to their campaign (W8 D1).

They lost by the odd goal in seven in Mostar and have found the net in every match this season so far. Villa are certainly capable of scoring over there so goals looks the best angle here where it’s 4/5 for Over 2.5 Goals, 4/6 for BTTS and 11/10 for a combination of both.

Goals have been flying in in Group H where 18 goals have been scored in the four games to date. Ludogorets shipped seven to Nordsjaelland and travel to Fenerbahce tonight.

The Turkish side have scored five in their two games, both of which finished O2.5. Add another 2.5 goals tonight to the goals Treble.
