Logan Stanley signs a new deal with the Winnipeg Jets.

The Winnipeg Jets have concluded an important piece of business on Saturday.

According to an announcement via the Jets' official website, the team has come to terms on a 1 year contract extension with former first round draft pick Logan Stanley. The new deal will be worth a total of $1 million, which will work out to an identical cap hit of $1 million for next season given that this is a 1 year deal.

Stanley has been with the Jets for quite some time, having been selected 18th overall at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, but is coming off of a season in which he appeared in just 19 games. Stanley was limited by a foot injury that caused him to miss 18 games early in the season, and then was hit with another lower body injury in the month of December that kept him out for a few games as well. Stanley would then find himself a healthy scratch on a number of occasions, which likely brought his value and negotiation power to an all-time low this offseason.

The one year deal here may be a case of Stanley betting on himself, with the 25 year old likely believing that he can have a much better season if he can manage to remain healthy this time around.

Stanley has 114 NHL games under his belt and has 3 goals and 17 assists in his NHL career.
