London Marathon runners gear up for slog

London Marathon starts hours before the Longchamp highlight. Sophia Upton, sister of Cheltenham Festival-winning rider Tim Mitchell, is raising money for the Injured Jockeys Fund. Brian Watson, a familiar face in Lambourn, will also take part. He is running for Racing Welfare. Christopher Burns is also running. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of 18. Raye Wilkinson was the welfare officer in Middleham. She was awarded an MBE for services to the horseracing community in 2019. The organisation supports people who currently work in racing and those who have now retired.
