James McDonald has lost one of his ace rides on Saturday's Golden Slipper card with the announcement Lost And Running would not be a final acceptor in The Galaxy.

Trainer John O'Shea informed Racing NSW stewards on Wednesday morning that Lost And Running was suffering from filling in the near fore pastern, which had prompted the decision to miss the $1m Group 1 race.

Lost And Running had been $4.60 favourite in early betting for the 1100m contest after trialling strongly at Randwick last week, where James McDonald partnered the six-year-old to win his 740m heat.

The gelding has not raced since finishing seventh in the Nature Strip Stakes in the spring when a $2.35 favourite after his win in the Premiere Stakes, which elevated him to second favourite for The Everest but he was found to be lame on race eve and missed the big race.

James McDonald still has a strong book of rides on Saturday with favourites Anamoe (George Ryder), Cylinder (Golden Slipper) and Pericles (Rosehill Guineas) heading the list.

Trainer Mr John O'Shea has notified Stewards that LOST AND RUNNING will not be an acceptor for The Galaxy (G1) to be run at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.
The horse has some filling to the near fore pastern which has prompted this decision.
