So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

The standard set by those who have raced isn’t overly strong and this could go to the Gosden-trained newcomer EBEN SHADDAD, who cost 190,000euros at the Arqana breeze-ups in May and is entered in the Dewhurst. Fellow debutant Neapolitan could be the chief danger for the Crisford yard that won this in 2018 and 2020. Hamilton runner-up Jonny Concrete is next on the list, while Windsor winner Piz Nair and the filly Imperial Express could also run well.

Two against the field are TRUE LEGEND and Golden Move, who both suffered trouble in running last time out and are open to improvement now upped in trip. True Legend did very well to keep on for second over 1m3f at Glorious Goodwood and is preferred over Golden Move, who was making good late headway in the 1m4f Shergar Cup Classic prior to being hampered. Alhambra Palace has travelled smoothly when winning the last twice but there are a number of other dangers, including Davideo, Denmark, Lordship, The Goat and Fox Journey.

Rhoscolyn (second choice) is reliable on this course and can be involved again but BLESS HIM gets the vote on his strong form at the end of his 2022 campaign and a Bunbury Cup fourth last month, where Star Of Orion was back in sixth. The latter has something to find on that form but is also likely to have a big part to play for his in-form yard. Ramazan is improving but faces more demanding opposition than previously while Shining Blue is respected on an impressive York win earlier but may be best caught very fresh.

Frankie Dettori won last year’s Ebor after racing wide apart on his own through the early stages from his wide draw and the jockey is faced with the same option on Absurde, who shaped so well at Royal Ascot but will need to settle. Sweet William has dominated this week’s betting and could still be significantly better than today’s mark but this will be less of a slog than for his last two wins and, although there was no problem in the way he travelled through those races, it may well be that the progressive ADJUVANT, the only one who made a race of it with him at Goodwood, will be able to reverse the placings with his 4lb swing and the less testing ground. Nearly all of the Irish-trained challengers are feared, with the potential of Yashin earning him a particular mention, but impressive Ascot winner Real Dream may be the chief danger. Scriptwriter and Scampi are others from the home team who could have their say.
