Luka Modric told to forget about retiring as Croatia defy the odds at World Cup

Luka Modric has helped Croatia reach the World Cup last 16. The 37-year-old playmaker is expected to retire after the tournament. Coach Zlatko Dalic insists it will not be his last international cap. Croatia will play Japan on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals. Dali's team is considered underdogs despite their impressive results.  

Croatia came second in group F, beating Canada 4-1 and drawing with Morocco and Belgium. Dalic's team has given great success to their people. Croatia has a population of 4 million people and is the smallest country left in the last 16. Croatia will give Japan the respect they deserve. Japan came to this World Cup with the desire to show what they are capable of achieving.
