Meier is a perfect fit for the Maple Leaf's top six. He has 21 goals and 38 points in 39 games this season. He plays a heavy game and loves to battle. Calle Jarnkrok will be pushed down the depth chart and play on the second line.

Meier is a restricted free agent at season's end and is available for a reasonable price. Toronto is looking for an offensive player to play with John Tavares and William Nylander. Meier has 21 goals and 38 points this season. He has also recorded 87 hits this year. He is also a good physical presence. The Maple Leafs have a chance to make a splash this term. They don't have to worry about the future, as Dubas doesn't need a contract for 2023-24.
