March Madness Prop Bets: Elite 8 Player Props, Team Props to Target

It could be a wild finish to the Elite Eight. Read on for our best Elite 8 prop bets based on top NCAAB odds.

March Madness is down to its final eight teams, and we're examining some of the most attractive props for what should be a brilliant weekend of basketball.

Will two of the tournament’s shining stars keep it going by clearing lofty prop totals on Saturday? Plus, why we’re fading Creighton’s sharp-shooting specialist in a tough matchup Sunday.

Here are our best March Madness Elite 8 prop bets (odds via BetMGM and DraftKings Sportsbook).

March Madness Elite 8 prop bets

  • Markquis Nowell Under 17.5 Points (-105 via BetMGM)⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Drew Timme Under 7.5 Rebounds (-110 via BetMGM)⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Baylor Scheierman Under 2.5 Made Three-Pointers (-190 via DraftKings)⭐⭐⭐⭐

March Madness prop predictions

Nowell Under 17.5 Points (-105) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Markquis Nowell’s scoring total for Saturday against Florida Atlantic sits just 0.3 points above his scoring average. Although the Kansas State standout has cleared that total in two of his team’s three games during this tournament run, getting his fill on Saturday could be a challenge against an Owls defense that's allowing just 63.3 points per game throughout March Madness.

While Nowell and Keyonte Johnson are Kansas State’s leading scorers, the Wildcats have been balanced, with four-plus more double-digit scorers in each tournament game. If the Cats fall short of their implied point total as I anticipate, Nowell may not get the volume to clear this line. Though he piled up 20 points against Michigan State, only 16 of came in regulation.

Avoid FanDuel’s -113 odds for an Under bet. DraftKings is acceptable at -110, but BetMGM is the preferred spot for this wager, offering odds of -105 on Under.

Timme Under 7.5 Rebounds (-125) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In Gonzaga’s thrilling Sweet 16 comeback victory over UCLA, the Bruins simply didn’t display the inside presence necessary to contain Drew Timme on either side of the floor. The senior big racked up 36 points and 13 rebounds in a dominating performance.

However, when the Zags take on UConn in the Elite Eight, Adama Sanogo and Co. should be up to the task of challenging Timme in the paint and on the boards. Though I don’t have the guts to fade Timme on his scoring total at 21.5 (which is notably lower than his outputs over the past couple of games), he'll experience a sharp decline in his rebounding.

UConn boasts the second-best rebound rate in the country this season, and the team just dominated Arkansas 43-31 on the glass in the Sweet 16. The Huskies will make it a priority to challenge Timme, keeping him below his season average of 7.5 boards. Avoid inflated odds at DraftKings (-130) and FanDuel (-120), and stick with BetMGM (-110) on this Under bet.

Scheierman Under 2.5 Made Three-Pointers (-190) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Baylor Scheierman has made a name for himself in college basketball as a pinpoint 3-point shooter. He averaged around 45% from deep across his last two years at South Dakota State before transferring to Creighton this season.

Scheierman’s 3-point rate has dropped to 36% with the Bluejays. But as a volume shooter, he still gets plenty of opportunities to drain triples. That was the case during the Sweet 16 matchup with Princeton, going 5-for-7 shooting from distance. San Diego State is a different animal, though, as the Aztecs’ stout perimeter defense allows opponents to hit just 28.1% of their 3-point attempts, ranking third in the nation.

The Over on this total has hit just three times over Scheierman's past 12 games, so I’m eating the juice and taking the Under through DraftKings. In a tough matchup when scoring could be limited in general, Scheierman would need to be overly efficient to clear this line.
