Vow and Decade finished 10th.

DuoDS finished 12th. Jockey Craig Williams' horse didn't reciprocate his efforts. He was 20 lengths off the leader. He had fought most of the way round.

William Buick's visiting jockeys often have problems with getting up from wide barriers. Buck pushed up too far and got caught out. He was up in seventh spot and couldn't recover. AI predicts winner of 2022 Melbourne Cup.

Montefilia finished 16th. She was heavily backed and likes wet tracks. Jockey said she didn't settle well in the run.

Dais came 18th in the Melbourne Cup. Hugh Bowman's mare Deauville Legend was beaten 38 lengths. He said he thought she'd go better than that.
