Mark Delbridge's two-year-old greyhound Yachi Bale won the Melbourne Cup on Saturday night. He almost didn't enter him in the feature race over 515m, but owner Brendan Wheeler convinced him. The Silver Chief Classic heats now await Yachic Bale. Delbridges hopes to win the Silver chief and Sale Cup. He has been involved in greyhounds for 30 years. His wife Lisa had never seen him so confident before the event. She had been surprised by his confidence. Ychic won by five lengths. Plaintiff finished third. It was the third Melbourne cup for David Geall in five years, and the first in 5 years for him and his trainer.
