Hara's Herbie Expected To Fire In Queensland Derby Heat

Hara's Herbie is the second favourite at $2.80 in the third Queensland Derby heat at Albion Park on Thursday night. Last Saturday he won the 520m distance at Ipswich in 30.13 seconds. The trainer Jemma Daley was brought to tears after Hara's horse saluted in November's Ipswitch Cup.

Hara's Herbie is going to compete in the Group 2 feature of the Ipswich Cup on Thursday night. The trainer, Daley, has only been a greyhound trainer for three years. She has been training the dogs since they were 12 to 14 weeks old. Daly is frustrated that Hara's Pandora didn't get a run at Ipswitch last Saturday night, despite her being able to trial. She believes the issue could have been resolved over the phone. Haro's Skye finished third in Group 3 Rising Stars on October 27. Her trainer hopes to have her start from box eight in first Bogie Leigh Futurity heat over 520m at Albion Park on Friday night and hope to win the race.
