Memphis Football: 2022 Tigers Season Preview and Prediction

Memphis posted its eighth consecutive season of at least six victories last fall. Quarterback Seth Henigan will be asked to shoulder more of the offense with Calvin Austin III off to the NFL. The Tigers are relying on an experienced backfield and the addition of Northern Illinois transfer Jevyon Ducker to invigorate the once-productive run game. All-AAC safety Quindell Johnson, Rodney Owens and Sylvonta Oliver will return to bolster the secondary. Joseph Scates is a transfer from Iowa State. At linebacker, the additions of Syracuse transfer Geoffrey Cantin-Arku and Charlotte transfer Tyler Murray will help offset losses at the position.

Memphis earned an invitation to the Hawaii Bowl. The team will play in its eighth consecutive postseason. Head coach Ryan Silverfield starts his third season. Two new coordinators came to Memphis in the offseason.
