Memphis Grizzlies: The Kenneth Lofton Jr. Conversation

The Grizzlies have too many players signed to NBA contracts and need to create an open roster spot. Junior is on a two-way contract and can play 50 games unless converted. If the Grizzlies had the roster spots available, converting Junior to an NBA deal would be a no-brainer. It makes more sense to convert Junior later in the season. The Brooklyn Nets with Kessler Edwards and the Utah Jazz with Trent Forrest used players on two way contracts to get them to the regular season and then signed them for the playoffs. The Grizzlies could do the same with Junior. They could also reevaluate the team's roster after the trade deadline.
