Grizzlies vs. Sixers prediction and odds for NBA Summer League (Back Memphis)

The Memphis Grizzlies may be a candidate to win the NBA’s Vegas Summer League, but they first have some matchups in the Salt Lake City Summer League, starting with Monday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Memphis has a loaded roster with Kenneth Lofton, David Roddy, Jake LaRavia and Vince Williams as well as rookie GG Jackson.

Memphis takes on a Philly team that outside of Jaden Springer and Javonte Smart doesn’t have many players with real NBA experience.

The Grizzlies are road favorites in this game, and bettors can’t forget how dominant Lofton was in the Summer League last season.

Here’s a look at the odds and my favorite wager for Grizzlies-Sixers:

In these early Summer League games, I love backing teams with NBA experience, as a lot of players (Lofton, LaRavia and Roddy) should look much more polished than the rookies and undrafted free agents filling out most of the rosters.

I expect Memphis’ group of players already on the NBA roster to thrive in this spot and showcase why they can crack a rotation that no longer has Dillon Brooks and won’t have Ja Morant for 25 games to open the season.

I am worried about Springer, who is entering his third NBA season and was named the 2022-23 NBA G League Finals MVP, but I think Memphis is a little too deep for this Philly team.

I’ll lay the 4.5 points on Monday night.

Pick: Grizzlies -4.5 (-110)
