Mexico World Cup 2022 squad guide: Full fixtures, group, ones to watch, odds and more

Mexico are back for their 17th World Cup. They have been eliminated at the last-16 stage in each of the past seven tournaments. Gerardo Martino is the manager tasked with leading El Tri to the quarter-finals in Qatar. The team's opening game is against Poland on the third day of World Cups. Argentina are expected to win Group C. Saudi Arabia are seen as the whipping boys.

Hirving Lozano is the star player for Mexico in 2022 World Cup. Jesus Corona is out injured and he will miss the tournament. LoZano plays as a playmaker and is a creative playmaking player.

Santiago Gimenez is a young forward who has made his Mexico debut in October 2021. Giméz played for Cruz Azul and Feyenoord before joining the Eredivisie this summer. He scored his first goal in a friendly against Chile last December.

Mexico take on Poland in the crunch Group C match. Mexico have not made it past the group stage in their last eight World Cup appearances.
