World Cup: Team news, lineups & prediction

Japan beat Germany in the World Cup's opening game and then beat Spain in their final game. They finished top of their group despite losing to Costa Rica. Japan face Croatia in round of 16 on Monday afternoon.

Hiroki Sakai and Takehiro Tomiyasu have been struggling with hamstring problems. They both made the bench against Spain. Tomyasu came on as a second-half substitute and may be drafted in from the start. Ko Itakura was sent off against them.
