Michigan early week favorite against Ohio State in ‘The Game’

It seems like forever since Ohio State was an underdog in Vegas heading into the greatest rivalry in sports, “The Game,” between the Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines. Even last year, when both teams entered the year undefeated, the OSU was a modest favorite.

We all know how that ended, and the game before it in Ann Arbor when Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh got the Ohio State monkey off his back.

Things are a little different this year, at least early on in the week according to Vegas. As luck would have it, I’m in Sin City myself this week reporting live — OK, not really, I just took my son to the desert to experience the very mild side of “the entertainment capital of the world” — and BetMGM has Michigan as an early 3.5 point favorite over Ohio State.

There’s a lot at stake on Saturday afternoon. The winner will head to Indianapolis to take on West division winner, Iowa, for the Big Ten Championship, then a chance at a spot in the College Football Playoff.

We’ll keep an eye on the line and see if it moves in either direction as one of the biggest matchups between these two old rivals gets closer.
