Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul betting odds: Here's who's favored

Oddmakers expect “The Problem Child” to down “Iron Mike.”

Jake Paul is a -350 favorite at BetUS to defeat Mike Tyson in their July boxing match, a boost from his opening -300 odds compared to Tyson’s +225 odds.

The expectation is that not all of the legalized gambling states will offer odds for the fight, passing on doing so like they have done for previous Paul fights.

It’s uncertain if this will be classified as a pro fight or exhibition, according to ESPN.

“It will be one for the books, no pun intended,” BetUS director of public relations Tim Williams said in a press release.

There will certainly be plenty of buzz for this fight when Paul, 27, faces Tyson, 57, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The fight will be streamed on Netflix.

The last time Tyson fought was on Nov. 28, 2020, when he boxed Roy Jones Jr. to a draw in an exhibition. The last time he had an official fight was on June 11, 2005, a loss to Kevin McBride.

That long absence, plus his age, is why Tyson is a solid underdog.

“I’m very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas,” Tyson said in a statement. “He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.  It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him off on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”

Paul is 9-1 in his career with three straight wins, including his March 2 win against boxer Ryan Bourland.

The 27-year-old influencer has defeated some UFC legends in boxing matches in his young career, but Tyson, in terms of resume, will be his toughest pure boxing matchup yet.

He is 2-1 against boxers, with the lone loss of his career coming against Tommy Fury.

“My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion ever, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time,” Paul said in a statement. “This will be the fight of a lifetime.”
