Brett Baty played 95 games in the Minor Leagues. Batys had a .315 batting average, 114 hits, 22 doubles, 19 home runs, 60 RBIs, 76 runs scored, 2 stolen bases, 49 walks and a 1.943 OPS.
Brett Baty played 11 games in the Major Leagues this season. He had a .184 batting average, 7 hits, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 2 walks.
Brett Baty was promoted to the majors on August 17th and played well, but he tore his thumb ligament late in August. He will play for AAA Syracuse in 2022. The ideal scenario for the Mets would be for him to force his way to Major League by June and play in a platoon with Eduardo Escobar. He would then become the full-time starter in 2024. Batys contract is pre-arbitration eligible. His best chance of playing in the big leagues is with Syracuse.
