NY Mets 2023 Opening Day lineup prediction

Brandon Nimmo is leaving the Mets and they are looking for a replacement. Trea Turner is the obvious choice to replace him. Starling Marte will play second base. He will probably play in the middle instead of the right field.   The team might be interested in outbidding the Philadelphia Phillies for him, but that might keep him from a division rival.

The Mets let the genie out of the bottle when they called him up at the end of 2022. Mark Canha is one of their most valuable players. Daniel Vogelbach will be the designated hitter. Darin Ruf is not going to make the roster next year. Mark Vientos struggled mightily in his short time in the majors. He showcased the exact concerns people had with his hitting profile from the minors. The team made it clear when it cut Robinson Cano that the best players will get rostered regardless of contracts. If the Mets sign Turner, most of all resources will go toward pitching. It's hard to imagine Darins Ruz being on the team next season.
