Missouri opens session, lawmakers eyeing sports betting bill
Two bills are filed in Missouri to bring sports betting to the state. Kansas legalized sports gambling in September. Nebraska legalized in 2021. The bills proposed the same 10% tax in the Missouri for sportsbooks. They don't involve regulating video lottery terminals. They also have measures for researching the best ways to help compulsive gamblers. It's still to be worked out, but the bill sponsors like their chances.
