MLB The Show 2023 predicts Red Sox make playoffs, Justin Turner wins battle title

After a season of struggles, the Boston Red Sox are looking things around -- and a projection by the video game “MLB The Show 23″ predicts that change is coming.

Ahead of the release of the franchise’s newest installment, “The Show” released the results of a simulation of the 2023 MLB season. In that projections, the Red Sox made the playoffs after finishing second in the AL East. They went on to beat the Texas Rangers in the Wild Card Round, but fell to the Blue Days in the ALDS.

There were also some positive predictions for individual Red Sox players.

Former Dodgers infielder Justin Turner, who signed a two-year deal worth $22 million with the Red Sox, was predicted to win the American League batting title, hitting .323 this season.

Last season, Turner bat .278 with 13 home runs and 81 RBIs.

Turner’s real-life stint with the Red Sox did not start out smoothly. The infielder was hit in the face by a pitch during an exhibition game against the Tigers in early March. Turner required 16 stitches, but did not suffer any facial fractures.

MLB The Show also predicts that Red Sox pitcher John Schreiber will win Reliever of the Year in the American League.
