MLS playoffs 2022: Live stream, time, TV info, how to watch, odds

The 2022 Major League Soccer playoffs are taking place earlier than usual this year to be completed before the start of the World Cup in Qatar. Los Angeles FC have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Philadelphia Union secured the Eastern Conference's top seed. New York City FC are the third seed in the East. The first round of playoffs starts on Saturday and continues through Monday.

There are 14 teams in the MLS playoffs. The top seven teams from the Eastern and Western Conferences qualify for the playoffs, while the top seeds in each conference have a first-round bye.

The MLS playoffs start on Saturday, October 15th. New York Red Bulls play FC Cincinnati at 12 p.m. ET. Los Angeles Galaxy play Nashville SC at 3 p.,m., ABC, ABC2, and ESPN. Austin FC play Real Salt Lake at 4 p,m, ESPN, CF Montréal vs. Orlando City at 8 p,.m and FC Dallas vs Minnesota United at 9:30 p..m on FS1.

The MLS playoffs begin on Thursday, October 20th with Philadelphia Union vs. NYRB/FC Cincinnati. Los Angeles FC vs LA Galaxy is on F1 at 10 p.m. ET. The winner of the match between CF Montréal and Orlando City will play against New York City FC/Inter Miami on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p p ET on ESPN.

Philadelphia Union plays NYRB/FC Cincinnati on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. ET (FS1). Los Angeles FC plays Nashville SC on October 20th at 10 p.,m., and LA Galaxy plays LA Nashville on Oct 20. The winner of Montréal/Orlando City vs. Orlando City will play New York City FC vs Inter Miami on Sunday, October 23 at 1 p,m, ET.

The MLS Conference Finals are on Sunday, October 30 at 8 p.m. ET (FS1).

Eastern Conference winner vs. Western Conference Winner will be shown on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. ET (FOX and UniMás).

The MLS championship game will be held in the home stadium of the finalist that finished the regular season with the most points. Los Angeles FC would host the game at Banc of California Stadium if they advance to the championship.

Los Angeles FC are the favorites to win MLS Cup. Philadelphia Union, CF Montréal, New York City FC, Austin FC and Los Angeles Galaxy are also favorites.

The Los Angeles Galaxy have won the most MLS Cups, winning five in nine appearances. D.C. United has won four MLS Cup titles, but hasn't won one since 2004. Houston Dynamo, Seattle Sounders, Sporting Kansas City, Columbus Crew and San Jose Earthquakes have each won two MLS cups. New York City FC over Portland Timbers in 2021. Seattle Sounders FC and Toronto FC play each other in the 2018 MLS playoffs. Atlanta United play Portland United in 2018.

NYCFC will play Portland Timbers in the 2021 MLS playoffs. Atlanta United will face Portland in 2018. Seattle Sounders FC will take on Toronto FC in 2019. Los Angeles Galaxy took on Houston Dynamo in 2011. Colorado Rapids beat FC Dallas in 2010. Houston won a penalty shootout in 2006. D.C. United beat Kansas City Wizards in 2004. San Jose Earthquakes beat Chicago Fire in 2003.
