Naomi Osaka Copes with Hamstring Injury as U.S. Open Commences

Naomi Osaka is the 2018 U.S. Open women's champion. She is scheduled to play Misaki Doi on the opening night of the Grand Slam event on Monday, August 31. Osaka had to withdraw from the Western & Southern Open on Saturday, due to a hamstring injury. She was in the headlines last week for her personal convictions and her tennis career. The WTA postponed all of her matches scheduled for the next day, and she played in a tournament in Wisconsin. Her opponent was Victoria Azarenka. It was held after Jacob Blake was shot by a white police officer.
