Serena Williams U.S. Open Odds, Preview

Serena Williams is playing her first match at the U.S. Open on Monday. It's widely believed the 2022 U.,S., Open will be her final Grand Slam. Williams has won the tournament six times in single's play.

Williams returned to tennis in June 2022. She reached the third round of the Eastbourne International but retired early due to an injury to Ons Jabeur. Williams received a wild-card to Wimbledon, where she had previously reached finals 11 times in 20 appearances. The first-round loss to Harmony Tan lasted more than three hours. In August, Williams won her first singles match in 430 days at the Canadian Open.

Serena Williams is ranked No. 608 in the world and will play Danka Kovinic in first round of the U.S. Open on Monday, August 29. She is favored to win. Next she will face the winner of Jaqueline Cristian and Anett Kontaveit. The No 1 overall seed in 2022 U.,S., Open is Iga Swiatek. Williams could also play Martina Trevisan or Ajla Tomljanovic. If she can play through her injuries, she could meet Leylah Fernandez in fourth round.

Serena and Venus were given a wild-card entry to the U.S. Open on Saturday. It's Serena's and her sister's final Grand Slam.

Williams has not reached the semifinals of the U.S. Open since 2007. She won her third U.,S Open title in 2012 and her last three U,S., Open championships from 2012-2014. Since 2015, she has made it to the semis three times (2015, 2016, 2020) and the finals twice (2018 and 2019). She was absent from the 2017 U U S.A. open while pregnant and missed last year’s tournament because of injury.

Serena Williams has won the U.S. Open six times in women's singles and twice in the women’s doubles. She will play Danka Kovinic in first round of the US Open.
