Napoli ace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia willing to ignore agent and dad's wishes for dream move

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is attracting huge attention for his performances with Napoli but, were the Georgian to move on, his ideal destination would be at odds with his agent and father

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is of interest to several clubs in Europe

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's agent admits he and the player's father would love to see him join Barcelona, but the player himself would rather play for Real Madrid.

The Napoli star has burst onto the scene this term, helping the Italian side dominated domestically and in Europe as they eye a first Serie A success for more than three years. Kvaratskhelia was an unknown quantity when he arrived from Dinamo Batuni in the summer, but is now attracting admiring glances from some of Europe's heavyweights.

Barcelona and their Spanish rivals Madrid have long been a dream destination for players with the 21-year-old Georgian preferring a switch to Bernabeu if he were to move to LaLiga. His agent Mamuka Jugeli has admitted though that Kvaratskhelia is very content in Napoli.

He said in an interview with Geo Team : "His father and I are Barca fans, but Kvara loves Real Madrid. If I see him in a Barca shirt I'll be happy, but he's Madridista. Napoli director asks me not to be in a hurry — Kvara likes everything in Napoli."

Jugeli also told CalcioNapoli last month: "There is a lot of interest from other clubs. Kvara, however, is only thinking about winning the Scudetto and Napoli's matches in the Champions League.”

In an effort to keep Kvaratskhelia in Naples the Serie A leaders are reportedly slapped a £87m on their asset to fend off potential suitors in the summer. The club also have the player under contract until 2027, leaving them in a strong position when it comes to negotiations.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has continued to star for Napoli this term

Napoli, who have seen their best players poached in the past, are also hoping to retain Victor Osimhen who is of interest to the likes of Manchester United. The Nigerian made a mega-money move from Lille several years ago and, like several of his team-mates, has seen his stock rise this term.

Kvaratskhelia's agent has confirmed that there will be no domestic switch should his client leave Naples. Those at the Stadio San Paolo were previously left fuming by Gonzalo Higuain's decision to join Juventus back in 2017, but have been reassured that no repeat is on the cards.

“He loves being (for Napoli),” the agent explained recently. “He told me that in terms of football in Italy he sees himself only in Naples. He will never play for any other Italian club, apart from Napoli. He feels in Naples as at home.” Kvaratskhelia has scored 12 times in all competitions this term whilst he's also provided 13 assists.
