Stalemate may suit both sides

There may be little to choose between the sides on Tuesday. Both sides have made good starts to their domestic campaigns: Real top of La Liga with seven wins from their first eight games and Napoli third in Serie A with 14 points on the board from their opening seven matches.

With considerable Champions League experience in both dressing rooms, this heavyweight European clash could therefore end in a draw, a result that would probably suit both after the opening round of matches, in which Real snatched a late win at home to Union Berlin and Napoli won 2-1 at Braga.

Napoli were impressive 4-0 winners over Lecce at the weekend, while Real negotiated what looked like a tricky assignment against the previously unbeaten Girona, winning 3-0 away.

Bellingham a shooting star

Jude Bellingham was on target again for Carlo Ancelotti’s side on Saturday, grabbing his sixth La Liga goal in what has been an outstanding start to life in Spain for the former Birmingham City youngster.

It was Bellingham who saved his side’s blushes on matchday one in the Champions League when he scored a 90th-minute winner at the Bernabeu and it would not be a surprise to see the 20-year-old among the goals again in Naples.

Bellingham is being deployed as an attacking midfielder by Real and he has been driving Los Blancos forward while offering a considerable goal threat, as underlined by his shooting stats so far in La Liga where he has managed 18 attempts with 12 of them being on target.

Osimhen and Joselu could have a say

Both teams boast considerable firepower with the likes of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Joselu for Real perhaps the two main forward threats.

Osimhen already has five goals in Serie A this season and he notched five in last season’s Champions League as Napoli made it to the quarter-finals.

He looks a good option to score or assist on Tuesday and combining that with both teams to score for part of the bet builder is worth chancing.

To enhance the odds further, adding Joselu to have at least one shot on target in the clash may well be the way to go. The experienced 33-year-old has attempted 21 shots in his eight La Liga games so far this season, with 12 of them being on target. 

Joselu has scored four times this term with two of those coming in his past two outings, so he should be confident going into this trip to Naples.
