National bowl projections for Utah, BYU and Utah State after Week 1
After Week 1, college football experts are making bowl projections for Utah's three FBS programs.
After the loss to Florida, ESPN's Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach have Utah down to Alamo Bowl territory. USA Today's Erick Smith has them facing Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Bonagsura thinks Utah's stock took a hit after the defeat.
After Week 1, national bowl projections for Utah, BYU and Utah State after Week One are as follows: Alamo Bowl, vs. Oklahoma State, Alamean Bowl vs Texas, Rose Bowl against Michigan.
BYU's bowl tie-in this season is linked with ESPN. BYU has seven different bowl destinations in the seven projections. The most interesting one is a New Year's Six matchup in Cotton Bowl against Houston. There are also calls for BYU to play a Power Five opponent. 247 Sports’ Brad Crawford wrote that BYU is not getting enough love.
