NBA Finals: Experts make betting picks for Finals MVP

The NBA Finals begin Thursday. The two inaugural winners of the conference championship MVP trophies are the favorites to win Finals MVP.

Stephen Curry is the favorite to win NBA Finals MVP. Jayson Tatum is second favorite at +170. Jaylen Brown is 11/1, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green 18/2, Jordan Poole 35/3, Marcus Smart 40/5, Andrew Wiggins 40-1 and Al Horford 100/100. Three players have won Finals MVP despite not leading their team in scoring in the last 20 years.

Klay Thompson is averaging just under 20 points in the postseason. He is a deadly outside shooter and a good defender.

Marcus Smart was named the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year this year. Smart is crucial to Boston's defense in the Finals. He has scored 15 points or more in over half of Boston’s playoff games. If Smart scores 15 or less points in a Celtics win, he might get the nod for Finals MVP.
