NBA parlay picks February 13: Back Mavs’ Kyrie Irving to go off vs. Minnesota

There are 11 NBA games on Monday, and the 22 teams in action present plenty of parlay possibilities.

The pregame narrative: Kyrie Irving has looked good with the Dallas Mavericks, the Oklahoma City Thunder have a solid matchup at home and the Miami Heat are tough to blow out.

NBA Odds as of 11:31 a.m. on 02/13/2023.

NBA parlay picks

Parlay: Irving over 24.5 points + Thunder moneyline + Heat +5.5 (+373)

Irving over 24.5 points (-118): This line supposes that Irving will score significantly less than his season average (27.0 points/game) now that he’s alongside Luka Doncic, but that might not be a fair assumption.

Irving scored 28 points on 21 shots in his first game with the MVP candidate, and Dallas’ lack of offensive options outside their new backcourt pairing should leave plenty of opportunities for the 30-year-old.

He’s also got a plus matchup on Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Minnesota has the NBA’s 19th-ranked scoring defence and it’s stronger at the rim, thanks to Rudy Gobert, than it is at the perimeter.

Irving has 25 or more points in 65.1% of his games this year and he should have that percentage climbing even higher on Monday night.

Other parlay legs

Thunder moneyline (-134): While Oklahoma City has a record below .500, the Thunder are 16-11 at home. The visiting New Orleans Pelicans, meanwhile, are 9-18 on the road and floundering in the absence of Zion Williamson.

New Orleans has only won one of its last eight road games and is 6-14 since Williamson went out. OKC is 6-2 in its last eight home games and has a one-day rest advantage over the Pelicans.

The best thing the Pelicans have going for them right now is Brandon Ingram finding his stride coming off a toe injury, but the Thunder have one of the NBA’s best big wing stoppers in Luguentz Dort.

(-220): Miami’s hard-nosed defensive style makes it tough to beat by a significant margin, and the Heat have covered this spread in nine of their last 10 games.

Playing the Western Conference-leading Denver Nuggets is no picnic, but Denver has a 13-14 record on the road. The Nuggets are also banged up as Jamal Murray is likely to be out with a knee injury and Aaron Gordon is playing through a rib issue.

Nikola Jokic is still capable of taking over games, and a healthy fear of the MVP frontrunner has us moving this spread.

That said, Miami handles centres extremely well. The Heat have allowed the second-fewest points and assists to the position, as well as the fewest rebounds (per FantasyPros).
