NBA picks: 76ers vs. Pelicans prediction, odds, over/under, spread, injury report for Wednesday, Nov. 29

Embiid has been ruled out for this game due to an illness. McCollum is officially in for the Pelicans. New Orleans is now a 3-point favorite in this game, and the total has moved to 228.5.

It looked like Philadelphia was due for a big win on the road, but the lack of Embiid will make that tough to come by. McCollum is officially going to play and those two updates are enough to swing the betting pendulum. I think the Pelicans now cover, but the under still hits with no Embiid.

The Philadelphia 76ers (12-5) will take on the New Orleans Pelicans (9-9) on Wednesday, November 29. Tipoff from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the game will only be airing on local TV.

The 76ers have already ruled out three players for this matchup. Shooting guard Kelly Oubre Jr. is out with a ribs injury, small forward Danuel House Jr. will miss the game due to a quad issue and guard Jaden Springer is day-to-day with an illness but will be out.

The Pelicans have yet to rule out anyone for Wednesday’s game. Shooting guard CJ McCollum announced on his own podcast that he intends to play despite a lung injury. Forward Matt Ryan is dealing with a calf injury but has been “upgraded” to doubtful, as has SG Trey Murphy III who has a knee injury.

The 76ers are the 2-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook. Philadelphia has -135 moneyline odds, with New Orleans as the +114 home underdogs. The point total is set at 231.5.

This will be the first of two matchups these teams will play this season. Philadelphia is 5-2 ATS as the away team this season. New Orleans is 7-3 ATS at home but is 3-4-1 ATS coming off a loss. The Pelicans return home after dropping back-to-back games on the road against the Utah Jazz. The 76ers are also 8-3 ATS after one day off, while New Orleans is 5-6-1 ATS in the same category. With both teams being off on Tuesday, the numbers are pointing to Philly covering on the road.
