NBA predictions: Hawks vs. 76ers odds, picks, spread, over/under, injury report for Friday, Dec. 8

Young has been ruled out with an illness, but the line hasn’t shifted much. The 76ers are now 8.5-point favorites and we’re still rolling with Philly as the ATS pick. The total, predictably, has dropped to 234. We still like the over despite Young being out.

We have an Eastern Conference showdown to look forward to tonight as the Atlanta Hawks hit the road to battle the Philadelphia 76ers at 7 p.m. ET.

Atlanta (9-11) has struggled as of late with four losses in five games, last falling to the Nets in a 114-113 setback on Wednesday. Brooklyn got the last laugh when Mikal Bridges buried the go-ahead jumper with five seconds left in the game. Meanwhile, Philadelphia (13-7) has taken three of its last five and last took down the Wizards 131-126 on Wednesday. It was a 50-point night for Joel Embiid, as the reigning MVP also offered 13 rebounds and seven assists in the win.

On the injury front, Trae Young (illness) is listed as questionable for the Hawks while Jalen Johnson (wrist) will miss his sixth straight game.

Philadelphia enters the game as an 8-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, accompanied by a total of 241. The 76ers are listed as a -325 moneyline favorite, making the Hawks a +260 underdog.

Hawks vs. 76ers, 7 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: 76ers -8

Philly has handled business as a home favorite this season, posting a 6-2 record against the spread under those circumstances. Meanwhile, the Hawks are limping into Philly with the worst overall record ATS at 5-15. With Young battling an illness, I think this will be a walk in the park for Embiid and the Sixers.

Over/Under: Over 241

Philly overs have been the popular play with a 14-6 record so far this season. Both teams are top five in scoring heading into tonight’s game, so they should have no problems reaching 241.
