NBA Title Odds After NBA Trade Deadline (Phoenix Suns odds shift following Kevin Durant trade)

The NBA Trade Deadline was full of twists and turns, with a lot of second round picks on the move.

The biggest splash of the deadline was the Phoenix Suns pulling off the stunning blockbuster, acquiring Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and four first round picks.

Phoenix has been in the middle of the pack of a crowded Western Conference all season, but they are now the betting favorite to win the Western Conference and the second choice behind the Boston Celtics to win the NBA title.

NBA Championship odds

The Suns are currently 30-27 (the team lost on Thursday night following the trade) and are the No. 6 seed in the West, but only two-and-a-half games behind the Mavericks for the No. 4 seed.

The team acquired Durant, who is still recovering from a sprained MCL, but is also still capable of playing at an MVP level. Before the injury that has cost him the past several weeks, Durant was averaging a shade under 30 points per game while shooting about 56% from the field and 37% from the three point line, the most devastating pure score in the league. He will join forces with Chris Paul, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton, the best starting five in the league.

On the other end, the Nets finally pulled the plug on a four year disaster with Kyrie Irving, who is now on the Mavericks, James Harden, who is now on the Sixers, and Durant. The team went from +2200 after trading Irving over the weekend to +8000 as the team begins their rebuild around the likes of Bridges and Nicolas Claxton.
