New Mexico State Win

Reasoning

The Aggies of New Mexico State hit the road for Ruston to take on the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech. QB Diego Pavia has been playing tremendous football for New Mexico State, racking up 1,801 passing yards with 16 TD and 5 INT, while completing 61.9% of his pass attempts. And he also leads the team with 527 rushing yards and four scores, while averaging 5.9 yards per attempt. He is one of nine FBS quarterbacks to lead his team in both passing yards and rushing yards. The Aggies rolled up a 28-7 road win against rival UTEP last week, and it looks to attain bowl eligibility with another successful foray on the road.

The Bulldogs are skidding, losing four of the past five games overall, including a 31-23 loss to Middle Tennessee two weeks ago, while falling 35-28 in the most recent game at home on October 5. Louisiana Tech is not only 3-5 straight up, but 3-5 against the spread (ATS), too. Louisiana Tech’s only home win against an FBS opponent came back on Aug. 26 in the season opener against FIU, a 22-17 win in a non-cover as a 12.5-point favorite. In fact, Louisiana Tech is 0-3 ATS in three home games against FBS foes this season. Defensively, the Bulldogs just cannot stop the run, allowing 198.4 yards per game on the ground, while they’re very middling on offense, and in all of the other defensive categories, too. New Mexico State has a surprisingly diverse offense, and it will grab the road victory.

New Mexico State ML (+115) at time of publishing. Playable to +110.
