Next Southampton manager: Candidates to replace Ralph Hasenhuttl

Nathan Jones and Marcelo Gallardo are among the early favourites to replace Ralph Hasenhuttl as Southampton manager. Hasenhuttt was sacked on Monday following the club's 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle.

Nathan Jones was last season's Championship manager of the year. He has taken Luton Town from League One to the Championship play-offs and the brink of promotion to Premier League.

Marcelo Gallardo is leaving River Plate and is interested in a position in the Premier League.

Kjetil Knutsen is the Bodo/Glimt manager. He was previously linked with Brighton following the departure of Graham Potter.

Ange Postecoglou is another manager linked with a Premier League position. He led Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title in his first season in charge. Celtic crashed out of Europe following their return to Champions League this season.

Mauricio Pochettino is a candidate to replace Ralph Hasenhuttl at Southampton. Pochetino was sacked by PSG in 2014 and has not managed since.

Sean Dyche was sacked by Burnley at the end of last season. He is now looking for a new job.

Steven Gerrard was sacked by Aston Villa last month.
