Montreal Canadiens at New York Islanders

The Islanders can clinch the final wild card spot in the East with a tie or win over the Canadiens. Both of these teams are in the bottom half of the league when it comes to goals per game. We all know what a slow style of play the Islanders, and how much talent the Canadiens lack. Given the circumstances of the game and what we know about both teams I think its a low scoring, grind it out kinda game.

Pick: Under 5.5 (-102)

Dallas Stars at St. Louis Blues

The Stars have won four straight games and now sit just one point behind the Colorado Avalanche for the top spot in the Central division, with each team having two games left to play. Meanwhile St. Louis has lost three of their last five and hasn’t played a meaningful game in quite some time. Furthermore, the Blues will be starting Joel Hofer who has just seven games of NHL experience. The young net-minder has good numbers, but his last time out was pulled after allowing five goals on 17 shots. I think Dallas comes out firing early and ultimately I don’t think the Blues will be able to match the Stars pace.

Pick: Stars Money line (-162)
