NHL betting market report: Daily picks, advice for Thursday, October 27th

Wednesday was a quiet day. Wednesday's betting market report is a work in progress. It will be updated later in the morning. All game lines via DraftKings Sportsbook and BetMGM Sportsbooks. All recommended bets will come with a recommended stake size.

Detroit Red Wings are playing Boston Bruins on Thursday. Brad Marchand is close to returning, but he won't play on Friday. Jeremy Swayman could start for the Bruins. It's unclear who will start in goal for Detroit. The current game line reflects the current betting market's odds of winning.

Florida Panthers are underperforming and are not good enough to justify betting them at -200. Philadelphia Flyers are rested and have had three days off. They beat Florida 4-3 in their previous game.  The Panthers' defense is not going to be at its best until Aaron Ekblad returns to the lineup.

Montreal Canadiens are +145 at Buffalo Sabres (-165) on Thursday, October 27th.

Minnesota Wild are playing their first game in four days against Ottawa Senators. Cam Talbot is still a few weeks away from making his debut as the Senators' new starting goaltender. The Wild have only beaten Vancouver and Montreal so far. Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to be in goal for the Wild.

St. Louis Blues are +135 at Nashville Predators. St.Louis lost 3-1 on Wednesday. Thomas Greiss could start in goal for Nashville.

Edmonton Oilers are (-215) at Chicago Blackhawks (+185) on Thursday, October 27th.

Washington Capitals are playing at Dallas Stars. Miro Heiskanen is injured and is considered day-to-day. Jake Oettinger is expected to start in goal for Dallas. Washington won the previous game. The Capitals have had two days off since their win over the Devils. Dallas is back home after an unsuccessful road trip.

Vancouver Canucks are in Seattle on Thursday. They are looking for their first win of the season. Quinn Hughes and Brock Boeser are injured. Vancouver is also looking to take points away from Seattle. Seattle is priced appropriately at -125.   for Vancouver to start Thatcher Demko. The Canucks return home and host the Penguins on Friday.

Winnipeg Jets play Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. The team plays two games in two days. Connor Hellebuyck will probably start in goal for the Jets against the Kings. David Rittich will start against Arizona Coyotes on Friday. Viktor Arvidsson could be out of the game for Los Angles. Alex Iafallo and Nikolaj Ehlers will not play.
