NHL Goal In The First 10 Minutes: Hellebuyck To Deny Penguins

The NHL has plenty of games and plenty of action for us to indulge in. There's a variety of player and game props to choose from -- including whether a goal will be scored in the opening 10 minutes.

NHL goal in the first 10 minutes Odds & Picks: february 6

Of the NHL matchups tonight so here are the ones to bet on for a goal in the first 10 minutes.

dallas stars vs buffalo sabres goal in the first 9m 59s of period - YES (-165)

In their last four wins, the Stars have gotten on the board early in three of them. The Sabres haven't seen the same consistency, with their last five wins only seeing goals in the opening 10 minutes twice.

However, of the 12 goals the Sabres have conceded in their last four meetings, eight of the goals have been snagged in the first 10 minutes. Oddly, Buffalo's defense (3.16 GAPG) sits just below league-average (3.12 GAPG). So, it's not like the defense is brutal. But, clearly is takes the Sabres awhile to get their feet going. So, let's guess Dallas will get on the board quickly.

montreal canadiens vs washington capitals goal in the first 9m 59s of period - YES (-145)

One thing about the Canadiens, there is absolutely no consistency. I mean, clearly, they've lost seven of their last 10. But, there is one bit of clarity when it comes to betting on Montreal -- no time is wasted.

In eight of their last 10, the Habs have either hit the back of the net or trailed from behind in the first 10 minutes. Let's stick to that trend tonight.

winnipeg jets vs pittsburgh penguins goal in the first 9m 59s of period - NO (+110)

Both Pittsburgh (2.74 GAPG) and Winnipeg (2.32 GAPG) sit in the league's top five defenses, with the Jets leading as the toughest. Which probably explains why this matchupo has the lowest total of the net at 5.5 goals.

This has little to do with the Penguins, though. Connor Hellebuyck is solid between the pipes, rocking a 2.20 GAA and 9.24 SV% this season. Although both these benches have noble defenses, each are average offensively. Count on Hellebuyck to keep the board clean at the start.
