NHL best bets today (Expect a flurry of goals in Sabres vs. Maple Leafs)

It’s been a rollercoaster of a season with my NHL bets, and I’ll be the first to admit it.

We started the season off rough, and was at one point down around double-digits unit. We then got red hot for a month and a half, in what was one of the best hot streaks of my career. That was followed up with one of the coldest streaks of my career.

Now, after all that, we’re hovering just slightly above the profit line for the season.

So, let’s do our best to get hot as we enter the final month of the regular season.

There are only three games for us to bet on tonight, and I have just two picks. Let’s dive into them and get the week started off right.

Sabres/Maple Leafs OVER 7 (+100)

The Buffalo Sabres have been playing terrible in their own end of the ice as of late. Over each team’s last 10 games, the Sabres are dead last in expected goals against per 60 minutes at 4.05. They’ve also been last in actual goals against, allowing 4.27 goals per contest.

There’s a reason this total is so high. Not only has the Sabres defense been bad, but both offenses have been hot. They’re 6th and 11th in goals scored per 60 minutes over their last 10 games, combining for an average 7.07 goals per 60 minutes.

Matt Murray has also struggled between the pipes for the Leafs lately. He has allowed four goals in each of his last four starts.

Give me the OVER at plus-money tonight.

Stars -125 vs. Kraken

The Dallas Stars have been playing some of their best hockey of the season as of late. Over their last 10 games, they’re second in the NFL in expected goal percentage. They have an expected goal differential per 60 minutes of +1.17.

Meanwhile, the Kraken’s goaltending has been disgustingly bad. They rank dead last in team save percentage over their last 10 games, stopping only 86.19% of shots on goals.

Give me Dallas as a small road favorite.
