The Pick: Penguins -1.5 (+106) MyBookie

Plain and simple, I have no problem fading the Blackhawks here. Chicago is actually one of three teams (San Jose Sharks and Columbus Blue Jackets) that I will look to fade almost every single game.

Until they prove me wrong, this is will be our approach.

On paper, the Penguins are superior. Even if Connor Bedard shows signs of McJesus 2.0, I don’t think they have enough help to keep up with the Penguins attack.

Plus, Karlsson adds a solid defenseman and another offensive mind to the mix.

Gimme the Penguins to show out and win by two in front of their home crowd.

Kraken @ Golden Knights

Matchup Information

  • Venue & Location: T-Mobile Arena (Las Vegas, NV)
  • Date: Tuesday, October 10th, 2023
  • Puck Drop: 10:30PM Eastern
  • Broadcast: ESPN

The Pick: SEA/VGK Under 6 (-104) BetOnline

I think we see a snooze fest to open up hockey in Vegas. VGK is obviously coming off a Stanley Cup Title, so we know the championship hangover can definitely be a thing.

Plus, this Kraken team is hungry to get back in the playoffs and prove their young core i legit.

Last season, the Knights took 3/4 from the Kraken, with the last 3 games either landing on or falling under 6 total goals. We only saw 7 goals in the 1st game last year.

With Adin Hill and Phillip Grubauer between the posts, I like these teams to feel each other out and ultimately decide this game by just 1 goal late.

I lean with the Knights outright, the Kraken to cover the PL, but I will be betting on this to stay under 6 goals with some push potential.

You can get Under 6.5 at (-118) on MyBookie.
