NHL parlay picks March 18: Bet on Canucks, Coyotes, Sens

There are 13 NHL games on Saturday, giving us plenty of options for our parlay.

The pregame narrative: The Vancouver Canucks are playing some of their best hockey this season, and they’re a good underdog choice against the Los Angeles Kings. The Arizona Coyotes are one of the hottest teams in the league, and we’re expecting a win at Mullett Arena over the Chicago Blackhawks. Lastly, we’re taking the Ottawa Senators on the puck line against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

NHL odds as of 11:07 a.m. on 03/18/2023.

NHL parlay picks

Parlay: Canucks +1.5 + Coyotes moneyline + Senators +1.5 (+323)

Canucks +1.5 (-148): Vancouver’s starting to round into form under new head coach Rick Tocchet.

The Canucks have won four of their last five contests, with their only loss coming against the suddenly red-hot Coyotes. They’re outscoring their opponents 12-7 across their last three games, including an impressive 5-2 victory over the Dallas Stars.

Finally having a steady presence in net is paying dividends.

Thatcher Demko missed a good chunk of time due to injury, but he’s been excellent since returning. He’s 5-2-0 in his last seven appearances and owns an impressive .923 save percentage.

Their opponent, Los Angeles, is playing well also. The Kings have won seven of their last eight, with their only loss coming in a shootout against the Nashville Predators. Still, we expect Vancouver to keep this contest close.

Other parlay picks

Coyotes moneyline (-148): Arizona’s running roughshod over the rest of the NHL.

Ok, maybe that’s a little hyperbolic, but the Coyotes are a hard unit to beat these days. The squad has won three consecutive games and five of their last six. Their only blemish during this stretch was an overtime loss to the Colorado Avalanche.

Similarly to Vancouver, Arizona’s hanging its hat on stellar goaltending. The Yotes have the seventh-best save percentage (.922) in the NHL over the last seven days, according to Natural Stat Trick.

While Mullett Arena is often the brunt of NHL fans’ jokes (and rightfully so), playing there is a real advantage for the Coyotes as they’re 19-11-3 at home.

They’re facing the Blackhawks and their 10-20-3 road record is the third-worst in the NHL.

Senators +1.5 (-200): Ottawa’s at home on Saturday night and that’s where we’re most comfortable betting on the squad.

The Senators are a respectable 19-13-2 at home this season, a much better record than their 14-18-2 mark on the road. They’ve covered this number in seven consecutive contests at Canadian Tire Centre.

The Maple Leafs are a pretty mediocre team on the road, winning 16 games and losing 15. They’ve won five of their last 10 away outings, covering as a puck line favourite in three of those.

These two Ontario teams have met twice this season and Ottawa has covered this number in both meetings.
