NHL prop picks Nov. 19: Bet on Golden Knights' Karlsson to score a point

A lack of star power in Sunday's NHL action has us searching for a pair of under-the-radar players to come through.

The pregame narrative: William Karlsson is having an excellent campaign but is very reasonably priced to register a point. Shea Theodore, like his fellow Vegas Golden Knights teammate, is excelling and is a nice selection to get on the board.

NHL prop picks

Best Bet: Karlsson to score 1+ points (-117)

Not many players having a season like Karlsson's are priced at this number to score one point.

Karlsson leads the Golden Knights in points (20) this season. He's been on fire ahead of this contest, too, registering at least one point in 14 of his last 15 games with 18 total during this stretch.

Only four of his points have come on the man advantage this year but his involvement on the power play is a big reason why I'm betting on him to get a point. Karlsson logs minutes on PP1 for a Vegas team that ranks ninth in power-play percentage (24.2%) this season.

He'll face the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are solid on the penalty kill. The Pens rank 12th on the PK this season (84.0%), but keeping the puck out of the net has been an issue as they've ceded 12 goals in their last three games.

Expect Karlsson to find the score sheet once again.

Key stat: Karlsson enters Sunday with more points than Auston Matthews (19), Mitch Marner (18) and Matthew Tkachuk (17).

Quick pick

Theodore to score 1+ points (-121): Karlsson isn't the only guy on Vegas having a quality campaign.

Theodore is also enjoying a healthy amount of offensive success. The rearguard has 18 points on the season, which places fourth among all defencemen in the NHL.

He's tied for third with Mark Stone on his own squad in the category, yet Stone is priced at -175 to notch a point.

Theodore skates on the top power play unit, and that's where a large chunk of his production comes from. So far, 10 of his 18 points have occurred on the man advantage.
