NHL Rumors: Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks

The NHL preseason games have begun. Free agency moves are mostly done, but rumors are still around. Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks are the main subjects of this Sunday's edition of NHL Rumors.

Auston Matthews will sign a max contract of $16.7 million to stay with the Toronto Maple Leafs. It is the first time in NHL history that a player has received such a large contract. Kyle Dubas will leave the Maple Leaf's after the 2022-23 season. Seravalli predicts Toronto will not go past the second round again.

Patrick Kane is rumoured to be traded to the New York Rangers. He produced another fantastic season with 26 goals and 66 assists for Chicago Blackhawks. Kane wants to win a fourth Cup with the Rangers and being reunited with Artemi Panarin will increase their chances of doing that.

The Chicago Blackhawks are interested in signing Patrick Kane. Arizona Coyotes have had the first overall pick. Chicago has their own first round selection, plus the top-ten protected 2023 and 2024 first-round choices from the Tampa Bay Lightning. New York Rangers accepted a conditional 20th-rounder and a fourth-year conditional pick in the deal which sent Nils Lundkvist to the Dallas Stars.
